Take Me There.
I got this from a friends blog. I hope she doesn't mind. I rather enjoy everything about this. Mark my words, before I die... I'll renovate an old airstream and make it just the way I want it. Then I'll take it around North America. Grand.
*This isn't my picture, if I knew who took it I would give credit.

Southern California
I grew up my whole life in Southern California (age 5 to 25). Not too far from Los Angeles and all it had to offer, not too far from the beach and waves, not too far from the desert and mountains and its fresh air, not too bad of a place to be raised. I haven't spent much time in California over the past few years. Going to school in Hawaii and having your family relocate to Canada makes it more difficult to keep in touch with you roots; it sill doesn't change how dynamic a place is or what it's worth to you. I really enjoy this little video that showcases just a bit of what makes Southern California such a sought after place with so much to offer.
I know, I know... There is a lot of traffic and the San Fernando Valley isn't that cool but California is a great place. Cheers to a visit there in about a month or so.

HAWAII AS HOME
I just moved. WEIRD. I've lived in Hawaii since 2005 (minus going home for some summers and even taking a couple semesters off). It has been the greatest place to live and get an education. The best part about Hawaii has been the incredible people I have been able to associate with. Seriously the best of friends have been made while living on that small and secluded rock out in the Pacific.
The first picture was taken at the airport when I arrived for the first time to go to school. I was lucky to have a few incredible friends already living there to greet me. Emily, Seth, Robin, and Becky made my first semester in a far away land super easy. I was instantly plugged into their scene and the rest was history. GOOD TIMES INDEED.
The second picture was taken yesterday about an hour before I left to the airport. It was great to get a bite to eat at the Kahuku Grill and visit with a few friends before embarking on another adventure; this time instead of beaches and waves there will be lakes and mountains. I don't know when I'll ever live in Hawaii again but I know I'll be back. I just gotta make a pit stop on the mainland for a bit. Cheers.

Carthew-Alderson Trail in Waterton National Park

I had a chance to do some hiking this summer. This was one of them. The summit hike has the best view you could ask for in all of Waterton and Glacier National Parks. Amy and I got on some plastic bags and slid down the glacier you see behind the two of us in the second picture. It was quite the rush. I look forward to getting back out to Canada this summer for a family reunion and to do some more hikes. Check out Amy's blog here. Click on these links [1] [2] for some more info on the hikes.
